On the evening of November 14, the 13th session of the @World "Touch the Academic Frontier" International Exchange Activity was successfully held at the Corner Conference Room on the second floor of the School of Computer Science. Two students, Yin Maolong and Hao Zhaotie, were invited to share their respective experiences of participating in international conferences.
Yin Maolong talked about his experience of attending ECAI 2024. ECAI (European Conference on Artificial Intelligence) showcased a comprehensive range of technical papers and multiple AI-related events this year, including Workshops, Tutorials, Invited Talks, Special Sessions, as well as PAIS (the AI Applications Conference), the sister conference of ECAI. In his sharing, Yin Maolong introduced his observations and impressions of the conference, and exchanged ideas with the audience on embodied intelligence and symbolic intelligence, two topics of great interest to the students.

Hao Zhaotie shared his experience of participating in CogSci 2024. CogSci (Annual Meeting of the Cognitive Science Society) aims to advance the development of cognitive science and promote interdisciplinary integration and academic exchanges across various research fields, including artificial intelligence, neuroscience, linguistics, psychology, philosophy and education. It is a prestigious academic conference recommended by the China Computer Federation (CCF) and categorized as a CCF Class B conference. In his sharing, Hao Zhaotie stated from his personal perspective that this conference not only exposed him to rich academic content, but also provided extensive opportunities for communication. Meanwhile, he encouraged fellow students to actively participate in the international programs offered by the school to broaden their global horizons.

The students said they had gained substantial benefits from the seniors’ sharing of conference experiences. Going forward, the School of Computer Science will continue to provide international programs such as conference participation and academic visits, striving to broaden students’ international perspectives in more diverse ways and cultivate their professional competitiveness.
